Video: Fleet Foxes New Song

I saw the Fleet Foxes in Santa Barbara this past Tuesday and it was amazing. We had general admission tickets and got to stand only a few feet from the stage. They are by far the best band I've seen live. Their harmonies were perfect. Their stage design— which was a large screen with projected graphics— was awesome, and fit seemlessly into their music. I could go on, but instead, I will just share with you, my video of Robin Pecknold's new song "I Let You". It's just flawless, they are so great.

Design Crush: Andrew Kolb (is definitely NEAT!)

I see I haven't blogged since July. Way-to-be, me! So I return with a big design crush (you will get totally crushed out too).

Andrew Kolb has created an entire children's book based on David Bowie's song "Space Oddity". Bowie needs to see this and love it!! As if that's not enough, you can download the whole PDF (and I suppose assemble your own children's book if you wish). His work is bursting at the seams with fun and character and wowness. Peruse his whole site, won't you? It's all amazing, and unsurprisingly he's done work for Pixar too!! What an inspiration this style is, so so so so much character and jubilation. Enjoy!

Thx Dirk Dallas for sending me that link!

Onesies for Funsies

Had some fun making these iron-on transfer onesies for my friend Alena and her forthcoming wee one, Jesse.

Alena is notorious for making iron-on transferred shirts for most occasions, so Natalee thought it was only right for us to give back. I haven't attempted transfers in years and they've really come a long way. It was smooth sailing. We used a combination of inside jokes, original illustrations and of course, the fabulous humor of the internets (all designed in illustrator, then reversed before printing!). Shout out to Natalee for awesomely art directing the beard one and preventing it from looking like a big toe.
